Software and Case Management

We use state of the art “I Draft” costs drafting software and a case management system modified to manage costs litigation by our IT support, but based on Lexis Nexis Visual Files. This software is designed to provide unrivalled efficiency both in bill drafting and case management and ensures that all steps are taken at the appropriate times and that all files are concluded within our tight timetables. Automatic prompts guide us through the process and provide complete management information. We would welcome prospective clients and work referrers to visit our offices in Manchester or London to experience our impressive systems in operation.

Managing Caseloads

Our draftsmen are split into teams and have specific case loads dependant on the nature and value of their work category up to 100 live cases per fee earner. Cases are managed into and out of our case management system and allocated on a by fee earner basis. Each individual and his/her supervisor are accountable in respect of the progress of each case. Our system is fully automated with specific prompts for each step in the costs assessment process.

Maintaining Quality

Our senior staff are generally ALCD qualified at between Costs Lawyer and Associate level. We recruit at mid level and strive to employ a team driven and motivated to provide clients with a first class service. Our junior staff are trained by us under the supervision of our managing director who is accredited as a trainer by the ALCD. The training academies have ranged from 2 to 6 trainees and have a minimum entry qualification of a 2:1 Law degree. We use state of the art bill drafting software to ensure that our bills of costs are presented in a uniform and high quality format. All work is sent out under the supervision of an accountable team leader/manager.

Case Management System

We have a client supervisor for every client and team leaders who will take direct responsibility for client liaison and contact. Our fee earners will also keep regular contact with the client as required. We regularly confer with clients to ensure that our service standards are meeting our SLAs and that the service continues to be as required.

Maintaining Client Relationships

Our case management system has been specifically built for us with a view to providing detailed management information and reports on a client and SLA specific basis. Each client’s needs are different and reporting is agreed on that basis, however , we can report from daily to quarterly by firm or department in many categories including;

  • Files received
  • Bills served
  • Files settled
  • Milestones reached
  • Hearings listed
  • Profit costs recovered against wip
  • Unrecovered and recovered disbursements
  • Payments on account obtained
