Negotiating

It is our clear view, supported by statistics, that our practice of drawing a bill on every case rather than attempting to negotiate costs on schedules, is of significant benefit to our solicitor clients because not only does it increase recoveries significantly (in some cases by over 50%), but it also protects the client from the dangers of badly drawn and inadequate schedules.

Our aim in our claimant service is, by allocating the appropriate resources, to provide a service which equates in speed, efficiency and service levels to those who provide a negotiation service based on schedules, but serving formal bills of costs immediately, thus giving the advantage in negotiation that the paying party knows that we are confident in our claim and prepared to proceed to Court if necessary, generating sensible settlement offers at an early stage and higher recovery levels.

This policy ensures, especially when dealing with regular opponents, that we receive realistic offers to settle early, and the vast majority of cases settle within 14 to 21 days of service of a bill.
